SPECIALIST CARE

SPECIALIST CARE AT BLUE FOUNTAIN
Having a carer stay overnight in case of a problem allows our clients to maintain their independence and stay in control of their lives. It may be that your relative is recovering from an operation and they have visitors in the day but need a little extra reassurance through the night. We recognise that live-in overnight care can provide peace of mind to both our clients and their relatives. Our carers will arrive before your loved one goes to bed, and stay through the night, just in case. We often find that live-in overnight care works well to help with a short-term situation. We work with you and your relative to tailor the care to their needs. We offer two types of care:

DEMENTIA CARE
Providing live-in dementia care within a familiar environment has a positive impact on well-being. We take a personal and sensitive approach to dementia care as we understand that the symptoms vary quite considerably from person to person. Consistency of routine and surroundings provide comfort and reassurance and being immersed in a home full of memories is often invaluable.

REHABILITATION CARE
Here at Blue Fountain Care, we we take great satisfaction in supporting people regain their confidence and mobility . We offer short-term help if you need to recover after an operation, and longer-term rehab care to manage and support your journey back to full health. It’s so important that you have the time to relax and recuperate, as it can be so tiring to continuously strive to progress. It’s often in these times that we turn our attention to the housekeeping, the laundry, or anything else that’s needed to keep things running smoothly until you’re back on your feet.

PALLIATIVE CARE
Palliative care is for people living with a terminal illness where a cure is no longer possible. Our goal is very much to help the person, and everyone affected by their diagnosis, to achieve the best quality of life. For people with life-limiting conditions, having the choice of being treated at home is so important. It allows us to promote a high level of wellbeing and independence for our clients, helping them to live as actively as possible for as long as possible, whilst also providing a relaxed and stress-free environment for all. A large part of palliative care is concerned with relieving discomfort or distress, and we do everything we can to manage pain and other physical symptoms. Our care plans are individually tailored, and they can complement more mainstream treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Here at Blue Fountain Care limited, we also work with psychological, social, or spiritual needs, and we support the specialist teams. We work with specialist medical staff to ensure we get the best possible advice for each person in our care. Our carers receive specialist training on how to deal with, and care for clients with life-limiting illnesses, or those who need end-of-life care.

MENTAL HEALTH CARE
Our experience of working people who have a various mental health diagnosis ranging from Psychosis , Anxiety , Depression and Complex Trauma , our staff work closely with individuals looking at support plans , Crisis and Contingency planning including using psycho-social support and evidence based support to ensure that people can avoid hospital admission or allow early discharge from hospital.

STROKE CARE
Our after-stroke care aims to support your recovery, helping you and your loved ones to make sense of the situation and move forward. The care very much focuses on rehabilitation – helping you to regain your mobility, your speech, and your independence. While the effects of a stroke can be permanent, there are many cases where people fully recover.A stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is cut off, either by a blockage or a bleed. These symptoms can be difficult for relatives to deal with. Our compassionate and sensitive approach can help to rebuild relationships and remove some of the stress from the situation.

PARKINSON CARE
Our specialist and compassionate Parkinson’s care focuses on encouraging a positive mind set, adhering to established routines, and staying active. Blue Fountain care carefully consider and assess your loved one’s needs, so we can provide the highest quality care.

OVERNIGHT CARE

OVERNIGHT CARE AT BLUE FOUNTAIN

WAKING NIGHT SUPPORT
Waking night support is when a specialist carer stays awake during the night, taking an active role in making sure your loved one is comfortable, happy, and has taken any necessary medication when required. Waking night support is recommended for more complex conditions, such as the advanced stages of dementia. We will arrange an initial assessment to determine the specific requirements and tailor the live-in overnight care to suit your relative’s needs. We always ensure that we have a thorough understanding of how things need to work, so you can rest assured that your loved one will receive the very highest level of night time support. It’s so important that they feel comfortable in the company of their carer, so we always dedicate the time for client and carer to get to know each other. We love to get to know your relative’s likes and dislikes, and we make it our business to adhere to house rules and routine.

SLEEPING NIGHT SUPPORT
Sleeping night support is when one of our specialist carers simply sleeps in the home. You may want to make use of a monitor so that if your relative wakes in the night and needs assistance, the carer can hear them and be on hand to help. With live-in care for couples, there can be days when one feels the strain of supporting the other, and you just need a bit of respite care before you return to the role of main carer. That’s what we’re here for – we can sensitively take over your role for as long as you need, and then take a back seat once you’ve recharged your batteries.
